My new experience at AIC

I've been at the Art Institute of Chicago many times but this time was different.
This time I didn't only look around as always, but I also pay more attention on the artwork.
I considered about the form, subject matter but still didn't get the content of the some artworks. I'll try more next time.

the AIC website

I've been at the Art Institute of Chicago since I arrived Chicago but this's my first time to explore their website. www.artic.com  is interesting. It looks simple and easy to explore. Moreover it allows us to make our own collections and enjoy those artworks at home. The most interesting thing is I found 20% off, the promotion for all jewelry.

The Sacred Realm Theme

This is a painting from Thai artist. His name is Sunya Sudlumlerd. This painting made by Acrylic.
This artwork is called "Buddha Bhum" which is mean the Buddha's period of life.
At the top of the painting is when the Buddha did a meditation, the middle one shows that the Buddha became en lighted and the last at the bottom is the Buddha's nirvana.
It's in the sacred realm theme because it's talking about things that we couldn't see and eager to know the answer. It talks about life and where will we go after we die.

A reflection on "Industry of the ORDINARY" @Chicago cultural center

"INDUSTRY OF THE ORDINARY"
by Adam Brooks and Mathew Wilson

Since I stepped into the gallery, I suddenly felt that this art gallery is NOT ordinary as its name.
Many photos and objects are obviously extraordinary.

This is a brochure I received from this event.

As I mentioned above, it looks ordinary but it isn't.
The artist choose to present their art work in a simple way.
It looks interesting, isn't it?

This piece was the first one which caught my eyes when I walked into the gallery.

In my opinion, this gallery presents both artists' thought about the industry which related to us or human being. I'm not a person who enjoy working around to see art but this gallery somehow a little interesting for me.

#1 Don't miss out!!

Here's is a cool art website which is hosted by a Thai artist.
His name is Noyneung who described himself as an art teacher, illustrator and graphic designer.
Enjoy doing makeup as a favorite hobby.
At first, I found his homepage accidentally but  I intentionally became his fan.
There are some pieces of his artworks. Let's take a look.

This is one of my favorite. A dinosaur!!

Another actions of a dinosaur.

Does anyone recognize this character?
However, it took me a while to figure out where is his eyes?
